Pocket Watch CGI

Pocket Watch CGI

Let’s pretend we live in a world in which Sam knows how to animate… well, anything, really, but especially a sweet video showing that this pocket watch is actually holographic and not just your average, run-of-the-mill pocket candy.

Now let’s revisit the real world where I have no idea how to do that and so this static stock looks… very pocket watch-y. I’m going to have to render out a different angle to show that the hands on this clockface are actually floating and transparent and emitting light, which all works together to equal science fiction because that’s how science fiction works full stop.

Which, I mean, considering that book covers are in fact static and not animated (yet… Amazon, take notes, I’m totally onto something that will be amazing and will definitely not turn a quick browse through the Kindle store into a psychedelic trip) and considering that this was made for a book cover, I should have done in the first place. Ahem.

Enjoy.

This video was taken from a recorded livestream and then shortened like crazy. (I know, you’re shocked. You thought that I was full of more awesome than I am and now you feel hoodwinked. I’m so sorry.) Want to join the party and see one of these puppies made live? Click here and follow me on Twitch to get notified when I go live.
